The most important goal of weight loss is to stay healthy

Most of the time people are motivated to find a way to lose weight really fast. There are many weight loss program and diets that promise you'll become slim in a short time.

But once motivated to weight loss, it is time to learn how to be healthy and lose weight at the same time.You should know that there are three main elements involved in this process: diet, exercise and mind. Research has proved that losing weight has as much to do with dieting and exercise as it does with our state of mind.

The state of mind is first related to setting realistic goals. Everybody likes to become slim and sexy overnight, but the real life teach us this is impossible. Experts say that goals of losing five to 10 percent are mostly reachable. So do the math, if you weigh 200 pounds, a realistic target would be to lose 10 to 20 pounds.

Losing 20 ponds could have important consequences for your body if is not done in a realistic timing. If not, you will lose the weight and your health as well. Experts come and say a healthy goal is losing 1 to 2 pounds a week. Do the math again and see If you need at least a three-month program to lose 25 pounds. Fifty pounds? Figure a time frame of at least six months.

Once your time frame has been set, the key elements to weight loss are what you eat and how you eat. Exercise is only a small part of the weight loss puzzle as a lot of research indicates the need to spend about 15 minutes a day exercising.

The largest healthy reason related to your losing weight attempt is what you eat and how you eat. We do not intend to go deeper in advising what you should eat. You should choose the protein diet to weight loss or other program is appropriate to your body and lifestyle. But some tips on how to eat are welcome:

  1. Set a limit to your daily sodium intake: Salt retains water in our bodies and its limitation will flush out more water. This decision is also beneficial for your liver and kidneys as well.
  2. Drink green tea: Green tea has the power to flush out harmful toxins and keep our digestive systems clean.
  3. Avoid being sedentary: You don't need to work in a gym hall doing weight-lifting or heavy exercising. You just can choose normal daily actions such as walking up and down the stairs instead of utilizing your building's elevator.
  4. Drink a glass of water before eating a meal and you will easily feel full after eating almost half of your plate's serving.
  5. Large meals are not healthy. It is better to eat 5 to 6 small meals a day. Keeping a food diary its benefitial.
  6. Eating slowly: Chewing your food slowly makes you spend more time at the dinner table, so your brain will get the sensation that you have probably consumed a lot of food.
Final advice: Lose it slowly, keep it off. Losing weight slowly means you've had time to adopt new behaviors to stay healthy.
